Legacy Added to order

Legacy Option Type changed from to One 13x19

Legacy Background changed from to No Preference

Legacy Obituary changed from to Edward Emil Proska Jr., 75, passed away in Caledonia on Monday, March 9, 2026, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle of more than two and a half years with Mantle Cell Lymphoma. Ed was born on March 18, 1950, in Racine to the late Edward E. Sr. and Evalyn E. (née Groenke) Proska. He grew up in Racine and built a life centered around family, hard work, and the simple joys that brought him happiness. Ed was known as someone who could fix just about anything that broke around the house. Whether it was a repair project or lending a helping hand, he was always ready with the tools and know-how to get the job done. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his ATV—pastimes that allowed him to spend time outdoors doing what he loved. Ed earned an associate’s degree in photography from MATC, where he developed a lifelong appreciation for the art of photography. Over the years, he photographed many weddings, capturing meaningful moments for countless couples and families. He also generously volunteered his time with Woof Gang Rescue, where he photographed dogs alongside the Easter Bunny to help promote adoptions and bring attention to animals in need of loving homes. Throughout his career, Ed was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. He began his career with General Automotive, where he worked for 14 years. He then spent more than 30 years with Bosch-Rexroth Corporation before concluding his career as a CNC operator with Senior Automotive, from which he retired in 2016. Above all, Ed was a loving and devoted husband and father. He shared more than 54 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Patricia (née Wendorf) Proska. Ed will be deeply missed by his wife, Patricia; his children, April (Ray) Wiggins, Mary (Rich) Johnson, Susan (Jeff Brunner) Blaski, and Laura (Soni Singh) Proska-Singh; and his cherished grandchildren, Alexander (Beck), Zachary and JoHannah Wiggins, Austin, Wyatt, and Bella Blaski, Devin and Micah Singh, and Ryan Johnson. He is further survived by his sister, Nancy (Shane) Hill; his brother, Marvin Proska; his nieces, Tiffany (Marcel) Franz and Cynthia (Mark) Kautzmann; his nephew, Jeremy Leslie; his great-nephew, Finnegan Franz; along with many other cousins, relatives, and dear friends. Edward was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Darlene Leslie; his nephew, Shane A. Hill; and his niece, Renee Mysliwy. A celebration of Ed’s life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2065 Geneva Street, on Friday evening, March 13, 2026, with a visitation beginning at 4:30 p.m. until a ceremony at 5:30 p.m. The family kindly suggests memorials in honor of Ed to Trinity Lutheran Church and School or to Woof Gang Rescue. Ed will be remembered for his quiet strength, his willingness to help others, and the deep love he had for his family. His presence will be greatly missed, but the memories he created with those who knew and loved him will be cherished forever.
