It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Franklin Faubion, of Leander, Texas, on February 23, 2026, at the age of 91.

Kenneth was born on September 18, 1934 in Belton, Texas to W. E. (Bill) and Ada Mae Faubion, and was raised on their ranch (Oak Grove Farm) north of Leander. After graduating from Leander High School (Class of 1953), he continued his studies at Texas A&I in Kingsville, TX, majoring in Agriculture. During his college studies, he married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Marie Chamberlain, on January 28, 1956. Upon graduation from college in 1957, he and Nancy moved to Beeville, Texas, where for the next 5 years he taught Vocational Agriculture and led the Future Farmers of America (FFA) Chapter there. Abruptly in 1962, with the unexpected passing of his father, he and Nancy returned to Leander with two sons now in tow. At the same time, and quite fortuitously, the Vocational Agriculture teaching position at Leander High School became vacant, and he was promptly hired. He continued to teach there for the next 28 years. Within these 28 years of teaching, he welcomed his cherished daughter in 1972, and then in 1974, he continued his education through correspondence and summer sessions at Texas A&M University, obtaining his Masters degree in Agribusiness. Then in 1990, after 33 years of teaching, Kenneth retired and opened Hill Country Feed on Hwy. 183, in Leander. After a few years, he officially retired, and with his wife, moved to DeLeon, TX, where they settled, fulfilling his promise to her from the lyrics of their “courting” song: “And these few precious days, I’ll spend with you, these golden days – I’ll spend with you.”

Kenneth was a man of the soil and walked with nature; committed to the service of community. He inspired young minds in cowboy traditions, and taught the responsibility of tending to God’s creation. So, to this teacher, father, friend, or mentor, “May the west wind lift and carry you safely to the Eternal, and into the days of Jubilee.”

Kenneth is survived by his 3 children, Kimon, Kern & Kara, and their spouses: Rene Faubion, Leo Katigbak and Mack Fulkes. Also surviving him are his grandchildren: Tasha Faubion, Daniel Kinnibrugh, Greg Faubion, and Aiden Fulkes, their corresponding spouses, and 5 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his cherished wife of 68 years, Nancy Marie Faubion, his father, W. E. Faubion and his mother, Ada Mae Faubion (nee Jones).

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff and caregivers at Riva Ridge Senior Care, and to those from Choice Hospice Svcs. for their watchful attendance, and for their physical and emotional care for the past 6 years.

Visitation: Tuesday, March 3rd from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Beck’s Funeral Home, Cedar Park, TX

Funeral: Wednesday, March 4th at 1:00 pm at Beck’s Funeral Home in Cedar Park, TX

Internment ceremony following the service on Wednesday the 4th at Bagdad Cemetery, Leander, Texas.

Pastor Trevor Kennedy of Good News Methodist Church, Georgetown, Texas, officiating.
