Legacy Obituary changed from to Kenneth Reid, age 87 of Canton, Georgia went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Harris Senior Living in Roswell, Georgia. Mr. Reid was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara Jean Reid. They shared a wonderful and devoted life together and were married for more than sixty-five years. Mr. Reid is survived by his daughter, Nancy Hazel Green (and husband, Stan) of Duluth, Georgia, son, Norman Kenneth Reid (and wife, Krista) of Talking Rock, Georgia, brother, Donald Reid of Armuchee, Georgia, five grandchildren, (Tyler and Abigail Green, Travis and Meredith Green, Tucker and Melanie Green, Brandon Reid and Jessica Reid) and eight great grandchildren. Mr. Reid was also preceded in death by his parents, William Oats and Ola Jane Reid of Anniston, Alabama, and his siblings William Reid, Jerre Reid, Audrey Hunt, and Anita Reid. Mr. Reid was a devoted husband and father and a proud Army Veteran. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He was passionate about traveling and camping with his wife, and he loved the outdoors. He was a long-time member of Hickory Road Baptist Church in Holly Springs, GA where he had served as deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was a Past Master of Canton Masonic Lodge #77, where he attended for many years. Mr. Reid was an entrepreneur at heart and owned local businesses in the field of Commercial Printing and Real Estate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Darby Funeral Home in Canton, Georgia. Funeral Services in honor and celebration of Mr. Reid’s life will follow at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Darby Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Georgia National Cemetery on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 10:00 AM. The family wishes to give special thanks to the staff at Harris Senior Living for their professional and loving care. In lieu of flowers, Mr. Reid’s family has requested that donations be made to either the American Diabetes Association or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in his memory. The caring staff of Darby Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Kenneth Reid.
