Legacy Obituary changed from to Clydia Jo Ann Dunn Wallace of Holly Springs, Georgia was born on January 27, 1943. She died and resurrected to glory on May 6, 2026. Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Pauline Dunn, her husband of 61 years, Truman Wallace, and her grandson, Little Tony Valle. She is survived by her children, Penny (and Antonio) Valle, Scott (and Valerie) Wallace; grandchildren, Anthony (and Tracy) Valle, Marc (and Brooke) Valle, Kayla (and Jon) Wallace, and Kyleigh Wallace; great grandchildren, Theo, Lily, and Alice Valle; sister, Patricia Stancil, brother and sister-in-law, Clark (and Pam) Dunn, sister and brother-in-law, Carol (and Harold) McArthur; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Jo Ann loved her family immensely! She was never happier than when her family was together. Whether it was in her home, at the pool, Thanksgiving lunch, or around her Christmas tree, she loved cooking and hosting her extended family. She was generous and loved shopping for the perfect gifts for her loved ones. Then she would precisely wrap each gift, adorned by the most beautiful handmade bows. There has never been a more beautiful Christmas tree than hers with 50+ presents underneath! She also tithed to her church and donated to World Vision, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and other charities. She would correspond with all the children she supported. Jo Ann loved her Lord, Jesus Christ. She raised her family in a Christian home and church. She led them to know Jesus as their Savior, her greatest gift! Jo Ann was Valedictorian of Cherokee High School class of 1961. It was said that there are valedictorians, and then there is Jo Ann Dunn! She was the smartest person I ever knew! After high school, she worked as an executive secretary at Lockheed for six years. Then she served as a school bus driver, PTA president, and substitute teacher at Holly Springs elementary school for seven years. Afterwards, she became a real estate agent. Jo Ann excelled at selling real estate. She became a broker and owned her own successful firm, Heritage Realty. She was the first person in Cherokee County to earn the prestigious Phoenix Award for selling residential properties. Jo Ann retired to help care for her grandchildren. She was delighted and her grandchildren were blessed by her loving care. Jo Ann suffered many diseases and a terrible accident; however, she continued to fight and recover for over 40 years. Her family will miss her dearly, but praise God that she is pain-free in heaven. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Darby Funeral Home. Funeral Services in honor and celebration of Ms. Jo Ann's life will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Darby Funeral Home. Rev. Norman Hunt will officiate. Interment will follow at the Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery where Ms. Jo Ann will be laid to rest beside her late husband, Truman Wallace. The family is accepting flowers, or in lieu of flowers, they request that memorial contributions be made in Ms. Jo Ann's name to either St. Judes Children's Research Hospital or Hopewell Baptist Church. The caring staff of Darby Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Ms. Clydia Jo Ann Wallace.
