Edmund Thomas Cieslak Jr., 69, affectionately known as "Ed," "Dad," and "Papadoo," left this world peacefully at Connecticut Hospice in Branford on May 24, 2026.
Born on March 1, 1957 in Brooklyn, NY, Edmund was the eldest son of the late Edmund and Marion Cieslak. He is also predeceased by his youngest brother, Stephen Cieslak. Edmund is survived by his children Erika (Nathan), Edmund John, Alexander (Jessica), Sandy and his forever friend Tricia Cieslak. He leaves behind three adored grandchildren - Emerson, Alexandra, and Madelyn as well as his siblings, William (Darlene) Cieslak and Laurie Stevenson. He will be missed by multiple nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and his trusty sidekick, Cali the cat.
Edmund dedicated over two decades of his professional life as Marketing Manager at Land Rover Southampton, where his passion for the automotive industry coupled with his friendly persona made him a great co-worker and friend. Even after retiring in 2018, his love for cars and routine kept him engaged and working part-time for Hertz up until his illness.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Edmund was a man of simple pleasures. He loved nothing more than a day at the seaside, suntanning in his beach chair and drinking scalding hot black coffee. His favorite hobbies included catch-and-release fishing along the south shore jetties, jamming his guitar on the back deck as the sun set and spending time with family. He was an immensely talented, incredibly humble musician, taking inspiration from The Beatles, Electric Light Orchestra, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, YES, Prince, Coldplay and Lana Del Ray.
Edmund's legacy lives on in his children, who carry forward his talent, mannerisms, and impeccable taste in music, forever etched into their hearts. In honoring Edmund's memory, let us remember the joy he brought to our lives and the love he shared so freely. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, June 4, 2026 from 2:00 - 6:00 PM at B. C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm Street, Wallingford, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Friday, June 5, 2026 at Most Holy Trinity Church of Wallingford, followed by interment at Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. To leave a message of remembrance, please visit www.BaileyCares.com.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to CT Hospice in Branford whom we thank endlessly for their compassion, grace and kindness.
