Legacy Obituary changed from to Vicki Lee (Viles) Walker, age 73, of Dadeville, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 7:10 p.m., at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo., after a sudden aortic dissection. She was born November 22, 1952, in Springfield, Mo., the second of four children to Chester and Lorene (Ashlock) Viles. She was raised in Springfield, Mo. and Grandview, Mo. and attended schools in Willard and Grandview. Vicki was united in marriage to her best friend, Rick D. Walker on April 3, 1971. They were married and served God together for 41 years. To this union were born one son, Weston Dale and one daughter, Kerissa Annette, and three grandsons, Caleb, Seth, and Samuel Walker. Vicki was born-again on February 19, 1967 after seeking God for repentance of her soul and surrendering all of her will to the Lord Jesus Christ during a revival meeting at Jericho Missionary Baptist Church. She joined the church and was baptized in the free-flowing river by the authority of Jericho Missionary Baptist church. She was a long-time member of Tin Town Missionary Baptist Church. She sang alto in the Viles family singing group started by her father Elder Chester Viles. She loved being outside and working on the farm with Rick, her children and grandchildren. She assisted in bookkeeping tasks for the family asphalt paving business and farming operations. Vicki also worked for Bill Roberts Chevrolet for over 25 years. There have been many words used by her friends and family to describe Vicki: kind, calm, caring, compassionate, great neighbor, friend, wonderful person, Godly woman. Vicki had a gentle spirit and was a solid rock of quiet strength. She had a servant heart, always regarded others feelings and wants more than her own and was always willing to drop everything to help someone in need. “Lord, what would you have me to do?” was how Vicki tried to approach every situation and by His direction she always had of way to guide every situation or conversation back to the Lord. With a song in her heart and a prayer on her lips, Vicki tried to be about the Master’s business. She was blessed with a talented singing voice that she used to help spread the gospel message during her life on this Earth, our loss is Heaven’s gain. What a legacy she has left behind, her mantle has been laid aside, who of us will pick it up? She will be sorely missed but those who loved her would not wish her back from her Eternal reward with her Savior Jesus Christ. Vicki was preceded in death by her husband, both parents, and her brother Jerry Viles. She leaves to mourn her passing her son Weston and his wife Lacey of the home; her daughter Kerissa and her husband Clay Baird of Webb City, Mo.; and her three Grandsons of Dadeville whom she cherished. She is survived by a sister-in-law Penny Viles, of Bolivar, Mo, her sister Velinda and her husband Glenn Roberts of Goodson, Mo., her brother Larry Viles and his wife Dana of Brighton, Mo., her nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends.
