Bernard Frank “Biff” Heard III
Bernard F. “Biff” Heard III, 65, of Larksville, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Allied Services Hospice, Meade Street, surrounded by love.
Born in Camp Springs, Maryland, on August 11, 1961, he was the son of the late Bernard F. Heard Jr. and Betty Zane Hellein.
Bernard spent much of his professional life working as a network engineer, a career that reflected his lifelong passion for technology and his natural curiosity about how things worked. He was always interested in the latest gadgets and innovations and enjoyed sharing that enthusiasm with those around him.
Affectionately known as “Biff” to family and friends, Bernard had a wonderful sense of humor and was always ready with a joke or a witty remark. He had a gift for making people laugh, often when they needed it most. Humble and good-natured, he never took himself too seriously and was happiest enjoying life’s simple pleasures with the people he loved.
Bernard had a wide variety of interests, including playing guitar, bowling, darts, and watching classic films and delightfully cheesy B-movies. He had a particular love for cars, both old and new, and especially enjoyed the thrill of a fast drive. Whether he was talking about technology, sharing a favorite movie, or cracking a joke, Biff brought enthusiasm and humor to the things he loved.
Above all, Bernard cared deeply for his family and friends. He enjoyed trips to the beach, hosting family gatherings, and spending time with those closest to him. A loving and devoted stepfather, he embraced his family wholeheartedly and took great pride in the people they had become. He was a cherished friend to many and will be remembered for his kindness, humility, quick wit, and the laughter he brought into the lives of others.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Donna M. (Howley) Heard; daughters, Shelby Munson and her significant other, Daniel Sugarman, and Krystal Munson; son, Michael Munson Jr. and his wife, April Grayson-Munson; grandchildren, Kameron Smith, Adrian Munson, Kevin Bowie, Christian Bowie, and Mila Munson; brother, Stan Heard; sister, Ann Heard and her husband, John Paige; mother-in-law, Helen Howley; sisters-in-law, Karen Hughes and her significant other, Clark Gregory, and Pamela (Howley) Whaley; brother-in-law, Joseph Howley and his wife, Michelle (Vasickanin) Howley; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, 465 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre. Family and friends may visit from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Family and friends are invited to share their favorite memories of Biff, offer words of comfort, and leave messages of love and condolence at kniffenfuneralhome.com.
