Catherine (Cathy) Fengler, 68, of Wallingford, departed this life on October 23, 2026, at Midstate Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of Timothy Fengler Sr..

Cathy was born in Chicago, IL on January 3, 1958 to John and the late Barbara (Frenk) Sexton. Cathy lived in and went to school in places including Chippewa Falls, WI, Jamesville, WI, Pittsburgh, PA, Philadelphia, PA, Medfield, MA, and Lakeville, MA. Cathy was a 1977 graduate of Apponequet Regional High School in Lakeville, MA. There, she earned the Presidential Physical Fitness Award and was one of the fastest runners in her class.

Growing up, Cathy loved cooking, baking, boating, and watching her younger siblings. Her passion for cooking and baking carried over to college where Cathy went to Johnson & Wales University where she earned an associate’s degree in culinary arts in 1979. She met her first husband, Joseph Anastasio, in college and moved to Wallingford, CT. After getting married in 1983, they welcomed their daughter Christina in 1985. Cathy and Joe separated in 1987.
Cathy worked in several culinary roles including as a baker at the Yankee Silversmith Inn in Wallingford and later a cook at Roy Rogers, where she met her husband, Tim Fengler. The two married in 1989 and built a life together in Wallingford, where Cathy devoted herself to raising her children: Christina, Jennifer, Timothy, Elizabeth, and Stephen.
A devoted mother and homemaker, Cathy found her greatest joy in caring for others, especially her family. She also had a special place in her heart for the elderly and took great pride in helping those around her. Cathy was known for her delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies, waffles, and countless meals lovingly prepared for family and friends. She was also a talented seamstress and enjoyed sewing and crocheting, often creating handmade scarves, hats, and mittens for her children and grandchildren.
Cathy treasured being part of her children's lives and took great joy in supporting their many interests and accomplishments. Whether cheering them on at swimming, baseball, basketball, cross-country, and track events or attending their musical and theatrical performances, she was always happy to be involved. She also enjoyed participating in the North Haven, Berlin, and Durham Fairs, where she proudly entered her baked goods and needlework creations.
As a loving and devoted grandmother, Cathy cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. She was always eager to lend a helping hand regardless of the day or time. She created countless special memories with her grandchildren, taking them berry picking at local farms, baking together, swimming at the community pool, and enjoying afternoons at the playground. Cathy was also a familiar and supportive presence at her grandchildren's school events, always delighted to celebrate their achievements and be an active part of their lives.
Cathy always made you feel loved and welcomed. Her homemade cooking around birthdays and holidays was an expression of her love. When Cathy smiled, she lit up a room and brought warmth and love into every occasion.
Catherine is survived by: her husband Timothy Fengler Sr.; her children Christina Miloua, Jennifer Jones, Timothy Fengler Jr., Elizabeth Fengler, and Stephen Fengler; and her six grandchildren Yasmeen Miloua, Amira Miloua, Salma Miloua, Timothy Fengler III., Ariella Jones, and Harper Fengler.

Friends are invited to greet the family on Monday, November 2, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford. On Tuesday, friends may meet directly at Zion Lutheran Church, 235 Pond Hill Rd, Wallingford, for her funeral service at 10:30 AM. Interment will immediately follow at In Memoriam Cemetery. Following the interment, the family will receive guests for a reception at the Zion Lutheran Church.

The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford, Connecticut has been entrusted with the arrangements. To leave a message of remembrance, please visit www.BaileyCares.com.
